Major progress on dehumidifier

With foam in the saloon, pushed hard this weekend to get dehumidifier installation complete and get interior humidity to mold-unfriendly levels.

First, used the old battery support shelf to make new mounting shelf. Templated with cardboard to fit the curves of the hull and deck drain hoses.

Next, extended the ducts to wrap from port side to starboard. Added inline filters in an accessible place. Used protruding deck hardware bolts to hang ducts closer to the deck and away from potentially being squashed by stuff in the locker (e.g. anchor & rode).

Then, made new back panel for the unit with connectors and flanges that will simplify installation and any needed removal for servicing. My friend Viktar helped get all the connections right.

And finally, mounted the unit and connected intake ducts, cables, and drain hose.

Next on TODO: test operation, strap it down to the shelf, and cover with panels (with vents).

Started on v-birth insert

Started making a new shelf for v-birth with a few guides to keep it in place. Running out of 3/4″ ply so had to join a few remaining odd pieces together.

Thinking it will have a cushion with magnetic attachments so it can be used both as a middle cushion and as a tray to put a drink on.

Galley dry fit complete, stove mounted

Took some time to fit all the CNCd pieces together. Man, this boat has no straight angles anywhere and all the measurements end up requiring some adjustment when parts are installed. Nevertheless, it call came together today. Not 100% done but only minor fit adjustments left to finalize it.

Finished building starboard storage shelf

The span ended up being too wide for 0.5″ plywood so I decided to add a center support piece that would not let the shelves sag. Made it from scrap piece of plywood that ended up matching the needed dimensions and curves pretty well.

After the centerpiece, made and installed the front panel and its trim. Hinges are 4″ off the bottom so that the opened panel will rest on top of cushions (once I make them 🙂

Love the final result. Just need a few latches to keep the door in place.
