End of destruction, start of construction

Today was the turning point in the project: the end of the destructive phase and the start of constructive phase.

We cut out the cutlass bearing in prep for the shiny new one.

The old moldy ice box was removed.

Saws all saws all

We attempted to build a cone tool to put a bevel into holes for the self-bailing cockpit drains but our tool construction didn’t  hold up.

The Cone Tool

We capped the day by fiberglassing over old thru-halls that would no longer be needed: exhaust outlet, raw water intake for diesel cooling system, and inaccessible drain for head (that has been relocated). The first ever fiberglass job turned out fine.

Nobody will know there once was a hole here
